How We Handle Local Roofing Work
How far does Birdie travel for a roof?
Birdie is based in Castle Pines and works the south Denver metro: Douglas County first, then Arapahoe and Jefferson counties and the City and County of Denver. Phillip Rupert is on every job, so the service area is the ground he can drive to and stand on the same week you call, not a map drawn for ads. If your address sits between the cities above, call. The answer is usually yes.
How does Birdie decide its service area?
Two rules. Phillip has to be on the roof himself, and the crew has to be able to come back. On the roofs we replace we install Class 4 Owens Corning Duration FLEX shingles, and a manufacturer warranty is only as good as the contractor who is still around to stand behind the workmanship under it. So we take work where we can inspect, install, and return, and we say no to the rest.
What changes from county to county?
The permit office, the inspection sequence, and the HOA. Every jurisdiction in the table above requires a permit for a full replacement, and most inspect mid-roof, while the deck and underlayment are still visible, and again at the end. Douglas County does not require a permit for a repair under one roofing square, which is 100 square feet, and its roofing permit page says so; Denver and Aurora administer their own codes inside city limits whatever the mailing address says. Colorado has no statewide roofing license, so where a contractor license exists, it is local too. We pull the permit, book the inspections, and itemize the fee on the estimate in every city we cover.
